T. B. Cruickshank / Hamilton / M. G. B. Co. // Trade / (Rooster) / Mark. Base Mark: (Dot). (Victoria) Aerated Water Codd Applied top. Bulge style. Aqua. 13 oz. 229 mm. 1890s
Very Good. Polished. Small flake under base, edges are smooth through polish so this is quite hard to see. Lip edge has some pitted scratches and one or two tiny flakes. Has been pitted around the bulged neck, some work has been done when preparing the bottle for polish to minimise this, very minor preparation that is standard with polishing bottles. There is another small patch below and to the right of the trade mark that has been worked on, probably had some pit marks here too. Some scratches to the inner neck groove. Generally shiny throughout, there are some scratches remaining. Quite a few fisheyes and little impact marks, concentrated mainly around the base and upper body/neck region. Strong embossing, some minor high point wear to some of the letters, but pretty good in general. Solid example of a very rare codd bottle which is highly sought after. We have never sold one of these before. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $2000 - 2500
