Bendigo Pottery Dogs Head Tobacco Jar with rope design around base. No base stamp. (Victoria) Pottery Bendigo Moulded Dogs Head Tobacco Jar. Green, Brown, Yellow & White Glaze. (see page 291 Bendigo Pottery by Ken Arnold) 140 mm. 1880s
Very Good. There is a chip to the rim of about 30 mm x up to 8 mm between the eyes at the front, fortunately this is largely unseen with the lid in place. 22 x 12 mm chip down the back from the rim. The underside of the front of the lid has a very shallow chip of about 15 x 5 mm. Just light marks anywhere else. Really attractive piece, wonderful colours to the glaze, one of the nicest Bendigo Pottery items you could hope to see. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $1000 - 1500
