Note added 14/11/25: The vendor has sent through 3 images from the book "Frechener Bartmannkruge" (What we would call Bellarmine Jugs from Frechen) published by the Keramion museum in Frechen. This shows some similar jugs on display there with verified dates. Also some extra images of this jug in particular showing more detail on the base and so forth.
Very Good. (7.7). Around the front base just above the stepped out base is a fine crack like mark, this is a making split. Internally you can see making splits around the base as well. Lovely mottled glaze to upper region, lower front looks more unglazed than anything. Amazing item with the oak leaves, acorns and bird on it as well, one of the best Bellarmines that we have handled. Estimate: $1000-1500
