(British Coat of Arms) / Magnesia (amongst other decoration) / S. Maw. Son & Thompson London. Base: Pontil Scar. (Too big for Australia Post). (United Kingdom). Medicine. Chemist. Large Specie Jar. White background. Modern wooden purpose made lid. 450 mm without lid. 1870s-1890s
Very Good. (N/A). The lid has been made in recent times to fit this jar, a work of art in itself! Some usage wear to heel. The white inner paint is original, this is a bit flaked above the design at the front. The design itself is amazingly detailed! There is a bit of flaking to the lion and a little flaking to the unicorn as well. Below Magnesia is a section that has flaked between the gold and the orange lower band. Some flaking to the lower part of the shield and also around the Latin motto. A few scratches and minor marks. A superb piece which will be a stand out in any pharmacy collection. No numerical grading given due to the multiple factors requiring consideration. Estimate: $1000-1500
