Soyer's // Lemonade. No makers mark. (United Kingdom) (Late Kingsley Durdin Collection). Aerated Water. Torpedo. Applied top. Skinny shape with bands around upper and lower body. Aqua. 10 oz. 248 mm. 1850s
Very Good. (7.5). Some fine inner point dirt. May have had an oiling at some stage. Some fine annealing splits to inner neck from making. 20 x 20 mm patch of wear at front right shoulder. 8 mm scuffed scratch to upper front left. Scuffed pact below the Y of Soyer. 20 x 5 mm scuffed patch to lower left rear just behind the seam. Scuffed area below Lemonade between the two bands. Below this towards the base point on one side is a larger, deeper scuffed area. A few fisheyes. Some scratches and scuffs. May have had a coating at some stage to shine it up a tad? Regardless, a great example of this very sought after and early bottle. We have only sold one before in Auction 51, this one is better condition. This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $1000-1500
