Porpoise / Embrocation. Base Mark: E (Dot). (Capper & Sons, New South Wales). Medicine. Cure. Round with long tapered neck. Applied top. Aqua 10 oz. 190 mm. 1890s
Excellent. (8). Some minor spots of grime which will soak out. Minor patch of light surface wear to right upper body and shoulder. 3 x 2 mm shallow flake to mid right seam. Just a few very light scratches and scuffs. Porpoise Embrocation was made by Capper & Sons and advertised in New South Wales. A later advertisement (in the Melbourne Age) mentions a sale including Faulkners Porpoise Embrocation and leather dressing products - the same as Cappers products so possibly Faulkner took over the business. And of course Faulkner's preserving oil from Sydney is known in stoneware bottles which would seem to come from the same company. This is the second example that we've sold, this one is better condition. Estimate: $200-300
