S. Capper & Co. Smooth base. (Victoria) Household Castor Oil Tall cylinder with long neck. Tool finished top. Cobalt Blue. 10 oz. 278 mm. 1880s
Very Good. Scuffs and scratches. Some hazy stain inside. 4 x 3 mm flake to the lip and some other nibbles all around the crude lip. Two small chips next to each other at the base edge to a total of 9 x 7 mm. Lovely crude embossing that doesn't even really line up that well. Samuel Capper ran a business making various household products in Melbourne. His business was merged with the Red Cross Company in 1883. This is a rare (and large!) Australian Castor Oil. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $100 - 150
