A. Hillcoat / Hickman. (Sydney, New South Wales). Ginger Beer. Impressed. Dump. Salt Glaze. Impressed. 10 oz. 168 mm. 1870s - 1880s
Excellent. (8.1). Big blob of glaze over the left lip. Shallow 4 x 4 mm glaze chip just behind this. Glaze worn spots of 5 x 2 and 3 x 3 mm on the back lip. Little kiln kiss at the shoulder. Some slight glaze wear and rubbing around the middle. Front base edge has a run of little nibbles and glaze flakes. Back base edge has a 17 x 5 mm chip that looks at least in part like it occurred during manufacture. Great stamp. Unusual bottle with the large print name on it. Appears to be from Thomas Hickman who sold his stock of branded Ginger Beer bottles to Pegrum Bros in 1885. Estimate: $200-400
