Goldfields Vinegar known as a George Whybrow Vinegar. No Base Mark. (United Kingdom) (Late Kingsley Durdin Collection). Goldfields. Vinegar. Pattern of four convex and concave arches to the body. Eight sloping panels on shoulder. Wide ring to bottom of neck. Applied top. Aqua. 26 oz. 305 mm. 1850s
Very Good. (7.5). Polished. Has an odd inner texture inside the neck and down the body on one side to the inner base. There are several lumpy, dark inclusions amongst this as the rough effect around and down from these, which are actually all making marks! Extremely crude indeed. No associated damage with any of the inclusions. Little fisheyes and impact marks to be found. Remains of some slightly pitted scratches. Little nick or two to base edge. A few surface bubbles internally. Not sure if this has been coated in something, you can see fingerprints in places? Lovely, whittled glass, this is quite a nice example of a scarce bottle. This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $150-250
