N/A. (N/A). 1. VG. Wear and scratches to the face from a fair bit of use over the years. Not much else to report. 2. Mint. I can't see any marks to report. 3. EXC. The Australasian United Steam Navigation Company (AUSNC) was an Australian shipping company formed in 1887 by the merger of the Australasian Steam Navigation Company and the Queensland Steam Shipping Company and their fleets. It existed from 1887 to 1961. This saucer is really good, it does have a small flake under the rim. Crazing throughout from manufacture. Some fine usage wear to heel. Nice piece with the Fowler potters stamp. 4. EXC. Royal Doulton was the maker of what has become known as "Awatea" China. This was especially made for the Trans-Tasman liner which was the Union Steam Ship Companies flagship in the late 1930s. At some stage a number of these lugged bowls came into the hands of persons unknown who intended to re-use them for some other purpose, thus a number of these bowls have been found with the Awatea logo scratched off the base. Both the bowl and saucer in this instance have the under base design sanded off. Otherwise these just have some spots of grime and crazing. 5. VG. Little flake to outer rim I think is a making mark. Couple of other making marks underneath. Little scrape to rim. Crazing. Some scratches. Estimate: $50-100
