Interesting early beehive shape salad oil or vinegar. Pontilled base.. Goldfields. Vinegar. Heavy glass base. Section of 6 descending bulbous levels is actually applied or joined separately to the base. Crudely tool finished top. Inner neck is hand ground to fit a stopper (stopper missing). Clear Flint glass. About 13 oz. 195 mm. 1850s-1880s?
Very Good. (7.5). A little dull and could use more of a wash. Just a few scuffs and scratches outside. Really nice piece of early glass. Presumably a table bottle to contain some form of condiment? We sold this exact item way back in Auction 16. Estimate: $50-75
